The world's Tallest Statue!

Sardar Vallabhai Patel is known as the iron man of India. He was the single man, who united all the small kingdoms ruled by separate kings to the country of India. He was the first home minister of India.

As a tribute to Sardar Vallabhai Patel , the government of India built a statue on the banks of river Narmada. It was named as the "Statue of Unity".

This statue is currently the world's tallest statue standing up to 182m tall.

Interesting Facts about this statue:

Strength: It can withstand earthquakes up to 6.5 richter (the unit of measurement of earthquake)

• Effort taken to build: 3000 workers, 250 Engineers, 57 months

• Revenue: 90 -100 crores, per year

• Elevator: There is an elevator which goes up to 400 feet high

• Architect : Ram V. Sutar

• Project Cost: 3000 crores

• Visibility: The statue can be seen even if you are up to 7 kms from it

• The Statue is made out of 12,000 bronze sheets.

It is said that the government is planning to construct the Statue of Ram, which will be much taller than the Statue of unity.
