"Hey! Look at my new hair clips. I got the Barbie and Rapunzel clips which are advertised on TV. They are so cute, aren't they?"

"Look at my new cargo pants. It has 1...2...3... 6 pockets. Do you have one like mine??"

Frilled frocks, Barbie dresses, cargo pants, Super Man T-shirts and lot more... You get thrilled when your mom comes and says, "Get ready child, we are going out!" because you are getting a chance to show your friends and relatives your new dress, which imitates your super hero.

Be it your birthday or Children's Day or occasions where you have to wear your trendy dresses, you never get tired looking into the mirror, thinking about how closely you resemble your idol.

Do something different.

Take a random peek at the mirror when you are just sitting at home. Few of you might actually rub your with disbelief, wondering, "Is that me???"

Well, it's common for us to be very casual and lethargic when we stay at home. However, should we dress up only when we go out? Keeping ourself neat and tidy when we are at home actually adds more value to our personality. Won't it sound good when a neighbour says "Oh, you look so smart!"

A neat and well-groomed appearance is not only impressive, it also keeps us healthy and bright. We don't have to look just like our heroes but also feel and be like them, and this is possible only if we are well-groomed at all times. We all have a "super hero" hidden within us, so let us respect him instead of trying to impress those around us. We all have something special called individuality, which we slowly begin to lose the moment we started imitating others.

Why should we imitate someone when we are special as we are? When we decide on what dress actually suits us, rather than imitating an adult or a hero, WE become the decision makers. We make the fashion statement rather than just aping some one else.

How do we choose what to wear?

Our comfort overrides everything else, but it is only fair that we respect the comfort of those around us. After all, it is they who Groomed! will be looking at us and should feel at ease with our appearance. So, let's dress with dignity rather than dress to kill!

Traditional occasions like festivals and other rituals at home have their own reverence. We actually look smarter and homely when we dress to suit the occasion. And behind every tradition there is a reason as to why we celebrate it and why we wear a particular kind of cloth or colour. Try to learn a little more about all this by doing your own research.

All neat and clean!

Many a time we've seen someone in great clothes, but with their hair all tousled and nails looking like dirty claws. Let's make a mental note never to allow this to happen to us. The only way to keep this promise is to be ruthlessly regular in the use of brushes, combs and scissors (or nail cutters).

Aesthetics is an essential part of appearance. Choosing the right colours and accessories will make us look pleasing. Take an adult's help if needed for this or try new combinations at home and see if they click before you wear them for your parties or outings.

Eat Healthy!

And finally, eat the right food always. It not only puts a natural glow into our cheeks but also keeps us alert, and gives a sense of well-being. Vitamin and mineral enriched foods (the veggies that we usually resent eating!) keep our noses from running and our skin from getting dry, rough or wrinkled at a young age. After all, bright clothes and a running nose are hardly a winning combination!
