Cassowary
The second largest of the living birds in the world-55-79 inches in height and weighing up to 58 kg. Famous for their strike blue plumage, red neck and a beautiful horn on their head. They have long powerful legs with which they run up to a speed of 31 miles per hour.
Tasmanian Native-Hen
This bird looks like a chicken. The heavy bodied native-hens have short wings. They live in small flocks and are good at swimming and running. They can run at a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour, using their short wings.
Takahe
With a length up to 24 inches and weight between 2.3-2.7 kg, the Takahes have attractive green-blue plumage and large red bill. Compared to their heavy body, the wings are too short and so, they can't fly. This is a noisy species with a loud clowp call.
Flightless Cormorant
