Once, a ten year old boy lost his left arm in a devastating accident. For some time the boy felt depressed and helpless. One day, he decided to learn judo in spite of his crippled state. He began taking lessons from an old Japanese judo master. He did quite well. But to his utter surprise his master had taught him only one move even after three months of training.

"Sensei", the boy finally asked "shouldn't I be learning more moves?"

"I have taught you only one move and that is all you will ever need to know", replied his master.

The boy trusted him and continued his training.

Months passed. One day the master took the boy to take part in a tournament. The boy easily won the tournament.

He became the champion! While returning home the boy could no more contain his eagerness to know how he had won the tournament with only one move. The teacher gave him two reasons for his victory.

The first one was that the move mastered by the boy was the most difficult one in judo. The second, the only known defence move required the opponent to grab his left arm. The boy's biggest weakness had become his strength in the tournament. That had marked his victory.

Life has such hidden surprises in store for us. Instead of worrying about our drawbacks and losses we must focus on our blessings.
