1. Polar bears are the largest among the bear species. A male polar bears weigh between 300 to 800 kilograms, while females weigh between 150 to 300 kilograms.

2. Though big in size, Polar bears can run fast. They can run a distance of 40 kilometers in one hour.

3. Their paws are as large as dinner plates. They help them walk on ice and snow without slipping.

4. Polar bears have three eyelids to protect their eyes from snow and wind.

5. They have up to 4 inches of fat under their skin to keep warm in the freezing Arctic.

6. Though they look white in colour, their actual skin colour is black. Their hair is transparent and lacks pigmentation.When sunlight hits the transparent hair, it scatters and reflects the light, giving the appearance of white color.

7. Polar bears are born with pink colour tongues. When they grow, they gradually change to a mottled black or blue-black colour. It is due to developmental changes and genetic factors, similar to the change in skin colour. Blue tongues help them absorb heat and protect against UV radiation.

8. They are extraordinary Sea Ice Lovers. They spend most of their time on sea ice, where they hunt, rest, and even give birth.

9. In recent days polar bears have become endangered species. The use of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas began to melt sea ice, affecting polar bears' habitats. Due to climate change also, their sea ice home is melting

10. Polar bears are considered as the ancient species of the world. Even Scientists have struggled to find the origins of polar bears exactly. But a jawbone of a polar bear was discovered in Norway's Svalbard. It suggests they may have existed around 110,000 to 130,000 years ago.
